Franz Collection’s logo and name are derived from Chen’s German name, “Franz.” Because Chen displayed many of the characteristics associated with the name Franz—such as freedom and creativity—his German professor decided to bestow this name. Collectively, the three elements of the brand’s logo—an abstract seagull, the Chen family seal, and FRANZ—proclaim the confidence and ambition of the man behind the porcelain. It is his personal guarantee that FRANZ artworks will always be high-quality art pieces of exquisite beauty.
Through porcelain art, Chen hopes to awaken in people an appreciation of Nature and Eastern philosophical wisdom. Chen believes that unlike most high-tech industries, the arts and culture are the culmination of countless generations’ wisdom and traditions. His vision is for Franz Collection to nurture in everyone an awareness of the beauty and creativity present in each moment, to guide each person to appreciate art more deeply, and to demonstrate how to integrate art into everyday life.
